HARTFORD GIRLS ROCK! is a unique program developed by Epsilon Omicron Omega. This brunch event, with a keynote speaker, celebrates the academic achievement, leadership, innovation, and empowerment of young women from community-based organizations in the Greater Hartford area. I was honored to be apart of the Hartford girls rock 2019, held of September 22.
I was nominated by girls for technology, the same organization I went to Facebook with. I selected to be celebrated at this a event with several other girls from Hartford County. I was chosen to be acknowledged as a girl in my community that has taken strives to show innovation and leadership qualities.

At the Connecticut Convention Center hosting about 1000 people, we had the honor of interviewing Ruth Carter, an award winning costume designer responsible for the incredible costume design in blockbuster films like Black Panther and Selma.
My question for Ruth was:
This is a two-part question. When you spoke about your 1500-piece collection from Black Panther, yu stated that the goal was "to make the fantasy familiar and you wanted to make the audience feel like they could fly to Wakanda." Can you explain the time and research that goes into the films like Malcolm X, Selma and Black Panther? Has there been one costume idea or vision that was especially difficult to bring to life?
